Authentic Christianity is under attack across Africa. We expect opposition from the Muslim north, but a far more serious attack against Christianity is being waged in our churches. False religions, the pressures of a changing culture and the apathy of those professing Christianity are all factors. In many of our countries it has become popular to identify ourselves as “christians.” Christianity has been redefined and many people are genuinely confused about what Christianity is.
There is a pseudo-Christianity sweeping Africa that is a cause for great concern among those who love the gospel! Churches are filled with people on Sunday. Many of those attending give mental assent to the idea that the Bible is God’s Word, that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. Yet mental assent is not saving faith! This is a “Christianity” that does not stand to the test of Scripture. A “faith” that does not change our heart, reprogram our motives and revolutionize our lifestyle is not authentic!
Our 2014 Leadership Conference will focus on this theme: Reclaiming Authentic Christianity. Workshops (listed below) will be handled by seasoned and and competent men! You and your church family will benefit greatly by attending this conference from 1-5 December 2014 and the CABC Kitwe campus.
The cost of the conference is k75 ($15) per person. The registration fee includes class materials and hot lunches throughout the week. Lodging is provided for out of town guest as space allows.
Pastor’s are invited to attend the Expository Preaching block class that week. The class will be divided into two parts. Dr. Les Ollila will be teaching “Cultivating an Authentic Ministry Philosophy,” and Dr. Sam Horn will be teaching “Cultivating an Authentic Expositional Ministry” from the book of 1 Peter.
Chaplains are invited to advance in their Chaplain’s Certification Program by attending the class offered for them during this week of Leadership Conference. The subject is the ‘History & Theology of Chaplaincy’. Lecturers for this class will be Pastor Francis Kaunda and Pastor Saidi Chishimba.
Please spread the word about the conference and extend this invitation to your friends and church family. All are welcome!
