WASHINGTON D.C., FEBRUARY 20, 2026<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Canadian American Business Council (CABC) has long advocated for the importance of free and fair trade that promotes predictability and stability in the U.S.-Canada economic relationship. The U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s recent decision comes at a time when businesses are navigating uncertainty while seeking reinforcement of the security, trust, and clear rules that have long underpinned our relationship.<\/p>\n\n

Tariff-free trade has been central to the U.S.-Canada economic relationship for decades, supporting jobs, growth, and economic security. Our bilateral partnership is deeply integrated, and uncertainty disrupts supply chains, delays investment decisions, and increases costs for workers, consumers, and businesses alike. A stable, rules-based approach to trade is critical to our shared prosperity.

Significant trade challenges remain. Looking ahead, we encourage leaders and policymakers on both sides of the border to work towards reinforcing clarity and duty-free trade. The CABC remains focused on working collaboratively to advance policies that strengthen North America\u2019s competitiveness and safeguard the economic security of our nations.<\/p>\n
